ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE GLA ROADS AND GLA SIDE ROADS (LONDON BOROUGHS OF LAMBETH AND WANDSWORTH) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that on 11th December 2023 it made the above named Order, under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into force on 18th December 2023.

2. The general nature and effect of the Order would be to impose a speed limit of 20 MPH speed limit on all GLA Roads and GLA Side Road extents in the London Borough of Lambeth. The Order will also impose a 20 MPH speed limit on a small section of Nine Elms Lane in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

3. The Order will also consolidate existing 20 MPH schemes on A3 Clapham High Street, A23 Brixton Hill/ Brixton Road, A203 Stockwell Road, A3200 Stamford Street/ York Road, A3036 Lambeth Palace Road/ Albert Embankment, Lambeth Bridge, Vauxhall Bridge and Westminster Bridge.

4. The roads affected are currently subject to a permanent speed limit of 30 MPH.

5. A copy of the Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Order(s) revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected by appointment at our offices at the address below by emailing trafficordersection@tfl,gov.uk. Please note due to Hybrid working access to post is restricted and requests for documents may be delayed.

6. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
