Please read this notice carefully if you were employed by Stewart Hughes Ltd between 1 January 1984 and 1 January 2023 and were, or think you might have been, a member of the company pension scheme.

The Trustee of the Stewart Hughes Ltd No.2 Retirement Benefits Scheme (“the Scheme”) hereby gives notice for the purpose of Section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 that the Scheme will shortly be wound up. The Scheme’s Trustee wishes to trace any persons who believe that they may have any right to benefits from the Scheme and have not received correspondence by post from the Trustee notifying them of the issue of individual deferred annuity contracts between members and Phoenix Life.

If you believe that you were a member of this Scheme, and you have not been contacted by the Trustee about the wind up of the Scheme, it is important that you contact the Trustee in writing at:

Please provide full details of your claim and any benefits that you think you are entitled to, and include your full name, address, date of birth, national insurance number and copies of any relevant documentation.

If you want to make a claim, you must contact the Trustee by 10 January 2024. Following the issue of individual deferred annuity contracts referred to above, all assets representing the benefits of all known members will be provided for under the individual deferred annuity contracts issued by Phoenix Life. Accordingly, once the date specified above has passed, the Trustee will, in reliance on Section 27 of the 1925 Act, distribute any remaining assets and wind up the Scheme without regard to the claims of any beneficiary of whom the Trustee has not had prior notice and without liability to or in respect of any person whose claim or entitlement has not been notified to them by 10 January 2024.

You do not need to contact the Trustee if you have received correspondence from the Trustee regarding the buyout and wind up, or if you have transferred your Scheme entitlement to another pension scheme or arrangement.
