PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF BICYCLE PARKING HANGARS IN VARIOUS ROADS ACROSS THE BOROUGH AND REMOVAL OF EXISTING PARKING SPACES TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE HANGARS
[NOTE: This Notice is about proposals to introduce secure bicycle parking hangars at each of the locations specified in paragraph 2 below. 2.6 metres of any existing parking space at these locations will be removed to accommodate new parking places in which the hangars would be situated.]
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth proposes to make The Lambeth (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* and The Lambeth (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:-
(a) designate parking places in which bicycle parking hangars would be installed at each of the following locations (where there is existing parking place at these locations, 2.6 metres of that parking place would be removed to accommodate the bicycle parking hangar):-
(i) Abbeville Road, the south-east side, outside No. 76 Abbeville Road;
(ii) Albion Avenue, the south-west side, outside Nos. 1 to 17 Raleigh House;
(iii) Athlone Road, the south side, outside No. 76 Athlone Road;
(iv) Babington Road, the north-west side, opposite Nos. 99 and 101 Babington Road;
(v) Barcombe Avenue, the north-east side, outside Nos. 145 and 147 Barcombe Avenue;
(vi) Bavent Road, the north-west side, outside Nos. 79 and 80 Bavent Road;
(vii) Blakemore Road, the east side, outside No. 5 Blakemore Road;
(viii) Bonham Road, the west side, outside No. 37 Bonham Road;
(ix) Brading Road, the south-west side, outside Nos. 8 and 10 Brading Road;
(x) Brancaster Road, the west side, outside Nos. 12 and 14 Brancaster Road;
(xi) Branksome Road, the east side, adjacent to No. 23 Haycroft Road;

(b) Remove 6 metres of single yellow line in Moorcroft Road, the west side, outside No. 16 Moorcroft Road and adjacent to No. 45 Norfolk House Road and extend the existing Shared Use Pay by Phone and Permit Holders Parking Place in this location.
3. The changes are necessary to provide secure parking space for residents who do not have the space and/or ability to park bicycles in their homes. Hangars aim to reduce theft, improve the street scene and encourage people to choose cycling as a safe and secure method of transport over the private car. The use of more sustainable modes of transport will also contribute to improved air quality in the borough in line with council cleaner air policies.

A copy of each of the proposed Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about them are available for inspection online at: www.lambeth.gov.uk/traffic-management-orders and at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Resident’s Services), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders.
