OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF THE MALL, STRATFORD TO PEDESTRIANS
THE NEWHAM (STRATFORD MALL) (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2023
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham on 21 August 2023 made the above-mentioned Order under Section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The effect of the Order will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the Newham (Stratford Mall) (Prohibition of Pedestrians) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2023.
3. The above experimental Order introduced a prohibition of entry by pedestrians to East Mall, North Mall, South Mall, West Mall and Centre Square, The Mall, Stratford every night Monday to Sunday between 9pm and 5am the following morning except for authorised persons. Details of authorised persons are set out in Articles 4 and 5 of the Order.
4. Copies of the Order, which will come into force on 28 August 2023, and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order with a Plan are available for inspection during normal office hours at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, by telephoning 020 3373 6415 or emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.
5. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
