WIMBLEDON STADIUM EVENT DAY PARKING ZONE
VARIOUS ROADS IN THE BOROUGH
• THE WANDSWORTH (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES) (WIMBLEDON STADIUM EVENT DAYS) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023;
• THE WANDSWORTH (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (SPECIAL PARKING AREAS) (WIMBLEDON STADIUM EVENT DAYS) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023.
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth on 2 August 2023 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 49, 49 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
2. The general effect of Orders will be to amend the hours of operation of various CPZs and waiting restrictions in the area of Wimbledon Stadium to facilitate Event day parking, so that the operate as follows:-
(a) G1 Monday – Friday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on non-event days and extended on event days so that it also operates on Monday – Friday between 4.30 and 8.30 pm and on Saturdays, Sunday and bank holidays between 1.00 and 8.30 pm;
(b) L2 Monday – Friday Between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on non event days and extended on event days so that it also operates on Monday- Friday Between 4.30pm and 8.30pm and on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays Between 1.00pm and 8.30pm.
(c) L2 1hr Monday to Friday between 10.30 am and 11.30 am on non event days and extended on event days so that it also operates on Monday – Friday between 1.00 and 8.30 pm and on Saturday, Sunday and including bank holidays 1.00 – 8.30 pm
(d) E1 Monday – Saturday between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm on non event days and extended on event days so that it also operates on Monday – Saturday between 5.30pm and 8.30 pm and Sunday and bank holidays 1.00 – 8.30 pm
3. Further details of the Orders, which come into operation on 5 August 2023, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made in The Customer Centre, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU.
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements of that Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
