COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND
IN JAMES RILEY POINT, CARPENTERS ROAD, LONDON, E15 2HZ
Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Newham ("the Acquiring Authority") has made The London Borough of Newham (James Riley Point) Compulsory Purchase Order 2023 (“the Order”) under Section 226(1)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended). It is about to submit this Order to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities for confirmation, and if confirmed the Order will authorise the Acquiring Authority to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of facilitating the carrying out of the comprehensive scheme of development, redevelopment and improvement of James Riley Point, Carpenters Road, London E15 2HZ to deliver high quality refurbished homes, community centre and improved public realm which will contribute to achieving the promotion or improvement of the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the area.
A copy of the Order and of the accompanying map(s) may be seen at Stratford Library, 3 The Grove, Stratford, London E15 1EL between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). The library is also open evenings and weekends. The latest opening times can be found on the Council website at https://www.newham.gov.uk/libraries-arts-culture.

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, National Planning Casework Unit, 5 St Philips Place, Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 2PW on or before 26 July 2023 and should state the title of the Order, the ground of objection and the objector's address and interests in the land.
In submitting an objection it should be noted that the personal data and correspondence relating to any objection will be passed to the Acquiring Authority in order that they can contact the objector directly to address the issues raised. If any person does not wish personal data to be forwarded to the Acquiring Authority, they should state why when submitting the objection and the Secretary of State will copy the representations to the Acquiring Authority with the name and address removed and if there is to be a local Public Inquiry, the representations will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result.

Plot 001 | All interests in 3484.937 square metres of residential building known as James Riley Point Building, Carpenters Road, London E15 2HZ and James Riley point Garden and pavement surrounding James Riley Point other than those of (i) the acquiring authority; (ii) the leaseholders of Flat 41, James Riley Point, Carpenters Road, London E15 2HY registered at the Land Registry under title number EGL453128; (iii) the leaseholders of Flat 44 James Riley Point, Carpenters Road, London E15 2HY registered at the Land Registry under title number EGL465632; and (iv) the leaseholders of Flat 98 James Riley Point, Carpenters Road, London E15 2HZ registered at the Land Registry under title number EGL379290. |
