The Mersey Sand Suppliers Retirement Benefits Scheme (the "Scheme") was established with effect from 1 May 1998. The sole employer was Mersey Sand Suppliers.

Notice is hereby given under section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 that Barker & Bence Ltd, William Cooper & Sons (Dredging) Ltd and Richard Abel & Sons Ltd as the Trustees of the Scheme (the "Trustees") are winding up the Scheme.

Anyone who believes that they are a member of the Scheme but has not already been contacted by the Trustees, or anyone who believes they have any other interest, claim or entitlement in relation to the Scheme (whether as a member or otherwise) that has not already been contacted by the Trustees about the winding up of the Scheme, should write and provide details of their membership, interest, claim or entitlement to the Trustees:

When contacting the Trustees please provide your full name, any former names by which you may have been known, date of birth, National Insurance number (if applicable), contact details, the period when you worked for Mersey Sand Suppliers and any documentation supporting your claim. Details must be sent by 23 August 2023. After this date, the Trustees will complete the winding up of the Scheme having regard only to interests, claims and entitlements of which they then have notice and the Trustees will not be liable to any person whose interest, claim or entitlement has not then been notified to them.

If you have already received information from the Trustees about how your benefits are being dealt with on the winding up of the Scheme, there is no need to respond to this Notice. Similarly, the Trustees do not need to hear from former members of the Scheme who no longer have an entitlement in the Scheme.
