ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
BARBERS ROAD - TWO NEW TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS ON THE NORTH WEST SIDE, SOUTH-WEST OF PUDDING MILL LANE DLR STATION
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham on 5 June 2023 made the Newham (Prohibition of Stopping on Taxi Ranks) (No. 1) Order 2023 under Section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to prohibit stopping by vehicles at any time, except taxis, on two new taxi ranks located on the north-west side of Barbers Road, as follows:
a) from a point 26.5 metres north-east of a point opposite the south-western wall of Pudding Mill Lane DLR Station north-eastward for a distance of 20 metres (so as to accommodate four taxis); and
b) from a point 29.6 metres south-west of a point opposite the south-western wall of Pudding Mill Lane DLR Station south-westward for a distance of 40 metres (so as to accommodate eight taxis).
3. Copies of the Order, which will come into force on 9 June 2023, and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection during normal office hours at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, by telephoning 020 3373 6415 or emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
