PGL PENSION SCHEME ("THE SCHEME")

(FORMERLY KNOWN AS RESOLUTION GROUP PENSION SCHEME AND BRITANNIC GROUP PENSION SCHEME)

NOTICE UNDER THE TRUSTEE ACT 1925

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 27 (1) of the Trustee Act 1925 that PGL Pension Trustee Ltd ("the Trustee") is winding up the PGL Pension Scheme ("the Scheme"). If you have received communication from the Trustee regarding the wind up of the Scheme, then you do not need to take any action.

Please note this notice only applies to the PGL Pension Scheme, it does not apply to any other scheme associated with the Phoenix Group. The PGL Pension Scheme was established by a Trust Deed dated 15 November 1923 and is currently governed by a Consolidated Trust Deed and Rules dated 26 March 2009 (as amended).

The wind-up of the Scheme commenced on 8 March 2023.

Anyone who believes that they are a member of the Scheme and has not otherwise received notification of wind up of the Scheme, is required to provide details to the Trustee.

Anyone who believes they have any other interest, claim or entitlement in relation to the Scheme but have not received announcements from the Trustee, should contact the Trustee in the same way.

Claimants should provide their full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number, the period during which they worked for Phoenix Group, or any associated company, and any documents supporting their claim.

Claims must be made within 2 months of the date of publication of this notice. In addition, if any person or persons have any other claims against or interest in the Scheme, they are requested to set out particulars of such a claim in writing within 2 months of the date of publication of this notice.

Once two months have elapsed following the publication date of this notice, the Trustee may distribute the assets of the Scheme amongst the persons entitled thereto having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have prior notice and will not, as regards the assets so distributed, be liable to any person of whose claim they do not have notice.

Please note that, if you were formerly a member of the following schemes you may have an entitlement under the Scheme:

– Britannia Life Group Retirement and Death Benefit Scheme

– Britannic Field Staff Association Pension Scheme

– Phoenix Life Group Pension Scheme (formerly known as Swiss Life (UK) Pension Scheme)

– Swiss Pioneer Staff Pension Scheme

– Life Association of Scotland Staff Retirement Benefit Scheme

– Crusader Staff Pension and Life Assurance Scheme

Please only get in touch if you are no longer a member of one of the schemes in the list above, and you think that you might have transferred to the PGL Pension Scheme.

To ensure that your claim is received it is strongly advised that any correspondence is sent by registered post. It would also be helpful if you could bring this notice to anyone else who you believe may have an interest in the Scheme.

Members of the Scheme and other beneficiaries with whom the Trustee or the Scheme administrators are already in contact need not respond to this notice because their interest has already been noted.
