KENDRICK PLACE – PROVISION OF PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE AND REMOVAL OF ONE-WAY SYSTEM SYTEM AND ASSOCIATED ‘NO ENTRY’

THE KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to:

(a) introduce a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone in Kendrick Place between the south-eastern kerb-line of Kendrick Mews and the north-western kerb-line of Old Brompton Road. All motor vehicles would be prohibited from entering or being in the pedestrian and cycle zone. [Note: Vehicles used by the emergency services and vehicles required for emergency work carried out by utility companies would be exempt from this restriction]; and

(b) remove the one-way system from Kendrick Place along with the accompanying no entry into Kendrick Place at its junction with Old Brompton Road.

3. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the scheme may be obtained via email by contacting trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk quoting reference: “Kendrick Place” and can be inspected at the Council Offices, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, 37 Pembroke Road, London, W8 6PW between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

4. Anyone who wishes to support or object to these proposals or make any other representations in respect of them, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection, stating the grounds thereof to: trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk or Traffic Orders, Transportation and Highways, Room 1.02, Council Offices, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, 37 Pembroke Road, London, W8 6PW quoting reference “Kendrick Place” by 14th June 2023.
