ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A41, A201, A400, A501, A503 AND A5200 GLA ROADS AND GLA SIDE ROADS (LONDON BOROUGH OF CAMDEN AND CITY OF WESTMINSTER) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2023
1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that on 27th March 2023 it made the above named Order, under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 1st April 2023.
2. The general nature and effect of the Order would be to impose a speed limit of 20 MPH on the:
a) A501 GLA Road – Marylebone Road, Euston Road, Pentonville Road between King’s Cross Road and the borough boundary of the City of Westminster and London Borough of Camden;
b) A41 GLA Road – Finchley Road between the borough boundary of the City of Westminster and London Borough of Camden and the borough boundary of the London Boroughs of Barnet and Camden;
c) A400 GLA Road – Hampstead Road, Camden High Street, Camden Street, Oakley Square (South-Eastern Arm), Lidlington Place, Harrington Square (Southern Arm), Millbrook Place, Hurdwick Place between its junctions with Euston Road and Camden Road;
d) A503 GLA Road – Camden Road between its junction with Camden High Street and the borough boundary of the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington; e) A201 GLA Road – King’s Cross Road, Farringdon Road, Acton Street and Swinton Street (as much as lies within Camden);
f) A5200 GLA Road – Gray’s Inn Road between Euston Road and Acton Street; and all GLA Side Roads - Red Route returns of these roads in the London Borough of Camden.
3. The roads which would be affected by the Order are GLA Main Roads and all GLA Side Roads - Red Route returns of these roads as listed in article 2 above.
4. The roads affected are currently subject to a permanent speed limit of 30 MPH.
5. A copy of the Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Orders revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected by appointment at our offices at the address below by emailing trafficordersection@tfl,gov.uk. Please note due to Hybrid working access to post is restricted and requests for documents may be delayed.
6. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
