THE REDBRIDGE (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (SCHOOL STREETS) (NO.1) (AMENDMENT¬ NO.2) ORDER 2023
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge (‘the Council’) on the 22nd February 2023 made above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 121A and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to make permanent the existing experimental Orders listed in 2(i) to 2(ii) (inclusive of) below which introduce pedestrian and cycle zones in Burford Close, Carlton Drive and the Un-Named Road Off Craven Gardens, Leading To The Rear Of Carlton Court as described in more detail in the Schedule to this Notice;
(i) The Redbridge (Prescribed Routes) (Experimental) (No.2) Order 2021;
(ii) The Redbridge (Prescribed Routes) (Experimental) (No.3) Order 2021;
3. All motor vehicles, except permit holders, will be prohibited from entering each pedestrian and cycle zone mentioned in the Schedule to this notice during the hours specified in relation to that zone in the Schedule of this notice;
4. Permits allowing vehicles to enter each pedestrian and cycle zone will be available by application to the Council to;
(i) residents of premises located within or accessible only from that pedestrian and cycle zone;
(ii) disabled person’s badge holders who have a bona fide reason to enter or leave a vehicle in that pedestrian and cycle zone; and
(iii) employees of businesses and organisations at premises located within or accessible only from that pedestrian and cycle zone;
5. A notice was published on the 9th of February 2023 stating new orders had been made to continue indefinitely the provisions of the experimental orders mentioned in section 2 of this notice. That notice was published in error and is hereby superseded by section 2 of this notice.
6. A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on plans of the relevant roads and the Council's statement of reasons for making the Orders can be inspected between 10am to 8pm on Monday to Friday (except on Bank Holidays) and 10am to 5pm Saturday, at the Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1EA.
7. A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 24th February 2023, plans of the relevant roads and the Council's statement of reasons for making the Orders can be inspected between 10am to 8pm on Monday to Friday (except on Bank Holidays) and 10am to 5pm Saturday, at the Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1EA.
8. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it or they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court within six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made.
