NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No.09346363) intends to make the above-mentioned Order, under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A590 Trunk Road, in the District of South Lakeland, in the County of Cumbria.

The effect of the Order, if made, would be to impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the following sections of the A590 Trunk Road:

The eastbound and westbound carriageways, from the start of the Newby Bridge Dual Carriageway, to a point 33 metres east of the Canny Hill Junction.

This Order, if made, will revoke any and all other speed limit orders affecting the lengths of carriageway described above.

The speed limits will not apply to any vehicle being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue authority, or ambulance services, or to special-forces vehicles.

Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director, Operations Division, National Highways Limited, Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester M1 2WD, making reference to this Notice, to be received no later than Monday 30 January 2023.

When submitting an objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to other people affected by it.
