LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.204) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet has, on 8th December 2022, made the above-mentioned Order under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
In order to improve general road safety, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order will be, on an experimental basis upgrade lengths of existing waiting restrictions operating 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday situated at the junction of Woodside Park Road and Holden Avenue N12 to waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’.
A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on Friday 16th December 2022, a plan of the relevant areas and the Council's Statements of Reasons for making the Order can be obtained for a period of 6 months from the date on which this notice is published by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 7th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW, quoting reference: 2022_49 EXP Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulation made there-under have not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
The Order provides that, in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Chief Executive of the Council or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, if it appears to him essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Order run, modify or suspend the operation of the Order or any provision thereof.
If the provisions of the Order continue in operation for a period of not less than six months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely. Anyone who wishes to object to the making of such Order for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the period of six months from the date on which the Order came into operation, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to Design Team, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW or via email to parking.consultations@Barnet.gov.uk
