Notices under the Trustee Act 1925
CAMERON IRON WORKS RETIREMENT BENEFITS PENSION PLAN (1974) (THE "PLAN")
Notice pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925
This notice is given pursuant to Section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925. Notice is hereby given that the Trustee of the Plan is intending to wind up the Plan in accordance with the Plan’s Trust Deed and Rules.
Following a bulk transfer of the majority of members to the Schlumberger UK Pension Scheme, and the payment of lump sums to extinguish the liabilities of members who remained in the Plan, the Trustee believes that all entitlements to benefits in the Plan have been extinguished. Any persons (unless they fall into one of the categories below) having a claim or interest in the Plan, including those whose benefits were transferred into the Plan from the Cooper Energy Services Retirement Benefits Plan in 1995 or from the Orbit Valves Staff Pension Scheme in 2000, are required to send written details of such claim or interest, together with details of their full name, address and date of birth and copies of any documents in their possession which support their claim or interest, to the Trustee of the Plan, c/o HS Pensions, 25 Goodlass Road, Liverpool, L24 9HJ, no later than two months from the date of this notice. In order to ensure that the Trustee receives notice of any such written details, the Trustee recommends that written details of any claims are sent by a guaranteed delivery method.
As soon as possible after the expiry of the two month period referred to above, the Trustee will distribute any remaining Plan assets in accordance with the Plan’s Trust Deed and Rules and overriding legislation to provide benefits for the members and any other persons entitled to benefits, having regard only to claims and interests of which they have had notice, and wind up the Plan. The Trustee will not, in respect of the property so distributed, be liable to any person of whose claim it has not had notice.
Please note that you do not need to contact the Trustee in relation to this notice if you have:
a) been notified of the transfer of your benefits from the Plan to the Schlumberger UK Pension Scheme; or
b) made a claim for benefits from the Plan and received a response.
