Notices under the Trustee Act 1925
THE SCOTTISH INVESTMENT TRUST PLC RETIREMENT BENEFITS SCHEME (THE "SCHEME")
The Trustee of the Scheme hereby gives notice for the purpose of section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 that the Scheme will shortly be wound up.
The Trustee wishes to trace any persons who believe that they may have any right to benefits from the Scheme and who did not receive letters from the Trustee dated 29 July and 27 September 2022 notifying them that the Scheme is being wound up and that their benefits will be secured in an individual policy with Just Retirement Limited. Any such persons should write to the following address giving full details of their claim and any benefits that they think they are entitled to, including their full name, address, national insurance number, dates of employment, and copies of any relevant documents:
The Trustee of the Scottish Investment Trust PLC Retirement Benefits Scheme, c/o XPS, 40 Torphichen Street, Edinburgh, EH3 8JB
Any claim must be registered with the Trustee by January 2023.
Following the issue of the individual policies referred to above, all the assets representing the benefits of all known members will be transferred out of the Scheme. As a result, once the date specified above has passed, the Trustee will distribute any remaining assets and wind up the Scheme without regard to the claims of any beneficiary of whom the Trustee has not had prior notice and without liability to or in respect of any person whose claim or entitlement has not been notified to it by January 2023.
If the Trustee, or XPS, is already in contact with you (for example if you have received correspondence from them or are receiving a pension) you do not need to reply to this notice as your interest has already been noted.
