1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Greenwich has made an Order to accommodate closures for the strategic cycle route Greenwich to Woolwich and carriageway works under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily:

a) Prohibit vehicles from entering, exiting, proceeding or waiting (including waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading) in the roads or lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

b) Prohibit vehicles from entering, exiting, proceeding or waiting (including waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading) in the following lengths of road for one night closures:

a. Whitworth Street, from its junction with Pelton Street to its junction with Trafalgar Road.

b. Colomb Street, from its junction with Pelton Road to its junction with Trafalgar Road.

c. Hatcliffe Street, for its entire extent.

d. Commerell Place, for its entire extent.

e. Armitage Road, for its entire extent.

f. Denford Street, for its entire extent.

g. Fignal Street, for its entire extent.

h. Denham Street, for its entire extent.

i. Aldeburgh Street, for its entire extent.

j. Feltram Way, for its entire extent.

k. Holmwood Villas, for its entire extent.

l. Ramac Way, for its entire extent.

m. Unnamed side road adjacent to 369 Woolwich Road, for its entire extent.

c) Suspend the parking bays adjacent to Commerell Place.

3. The above restrictions would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing or covering of the appropriate traffic signs.

4. Whilst the closures are in operation, vehicular access to properties affected by these works would be maintained wherever possible subject to the extent and operations of the works. Alternative routes for diverted vehicles would be available via local roads and would be indicated via local signage, also indicated in column 3 of the table in the Schedule to this Notice.

5. The Order would come into force on 29th June 2022 and would continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works and suspensions would be conducted on a ‘rolling’ programme and, as such, not all the restrictions stated in paragraph 2 would be in force in all the effected roads.

SCHEDULE – Scheduled Road and Lane Closures

[Note: For the following roads, part of the carriageway will be closed for the duration specified, two-way traffic will be maintained but controlled by temporary traffic signals:

1. Trafalgar Road, both sides, for 8 days, between a point 26 metres west and a point 21 metres east of its junction with Christchurch Way;

2. Trafalgar Road, both sides, for 2 days overnight, between its junction with Whitworth Street and its junction with Blackwall Lane and Vanbrugh Hill;

3. Woolwich Road, both sides, 1 day at all times, between its junction with Armitage Road and a point 37 metres east of its junction with Armitage Road;

4. Woolwich Road, both sides, 5 days at all times, between a point 23 metres west of its junction with Commerell Place to a point 56.5 metres east of its junction with Armitage Road;

5. Woolwich Road, both sides 18 days at all times, between a point 10.5 metres west of its junction with Fingal Street to its junction with Marlton Street;

6. Woolwich Road, both sides, 12 days at all time, between its junction with Marlton Street and a point 11.5 metres east of its junction with Chilver Street.

7. Woolwich Road, both sides, 6 days overnight, between a point 9.5 metres west of its junction with Fignal Street to a point 32.5 metres east of its junction with Chilver Street;

8. Woolwich Road, both sides, 8 days at all times, from a point 29 metres west to a point 38.5 metres east of its junction with Denham Street;

9. Woolwich Road, both sides, 12 days at all times and 3 days overnight, from a point 29 metres west of its junction with Denham Street to its junction with Tunnel Avenue.

10. Woolwich Road, both sides, 1 day overnight, from a point 12 metres east of its junction with Felltram Way to a point 14.5 metres east of its junction with Holmwood Villas.

11. Woolwich Road, both sides, 1 day overnight, from the common boundary of Nos. 322 and 324 Woolwich Road for a distance of 60.5 metres in a westerly direction.
