THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (RODNEY PLACE AREA) ORDER 2022

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (LOADING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (RODNEY PLACE AREA) ORDER 2022

1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that on 26 May 2022 it has made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effect of the (Charged-for parking places) Order are:-

(a) to install 3 new car club parking places (6 metres in length each) in: (i) MUNTON ROAD south-east side, opposite Nos. 1 to 6 Munton Road, and (ii) RODNEY PLACE (2 new car club places) south-west side, opposite Nos. 1 to 27 Rodney Place; and

(b) to reduce in length existing ‘pay’ parking within Controlled Parking Zone 'M1' by 6 metres in MUNTON ROAD south-east side, opposite Nos. 1 to 6 Munton Road to accommodate the new car club parking.

3. The effect of the (Loading places and Waiting restrictions) Order in RODNEY PLACE are:-

(a) to install 2 new inset loading places which may be used Mon-Sat between the hours of 7am and 7 pm for the purpose of loading only (max stay 20 minutes, no return within 1 hour) on the south-west side (i) 24 metres in length opposite Nos. 1 to 27 Rodney Place, and (ii) 21.5 metres in length opposite No. 29 Rodney Place; and

(b) to extend existing ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions by a total of 17 metres, south-west side opposite its junctions with Munton Road and Elba Place.

Note: All measurements are in metres and are approximate.

4. Copies of the orders, which will come into force on 30 May 2022, and of all other relevant documents are available for inspection at Highways, Southwark Council, Environment and Leisure, 3rd floor hub 2, 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2QH, by appointment only. 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the order/s or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the order/s may, within six weeks of the date on which the order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
