THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (BRUNSWICK PARK STREETSPACE) ORDER 2022
1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that on 31 March 2022 it has made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended (‘the 1984 Act’).
2. The effect of the orders are:-
(a) to introduce point road closures prohibiting the movement of motor vehicles, which will be indicated by traffic signs and physically enforced by planters and flexible bollards (i) in ELMINGTON ROAD, at the common boundary of Nos. 146 and 148 Elmington Road, and (ii) in HAVIL STREET 20.5m north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 28 and 30 Havil Street;
(b) to introduce part road closures prohibiting the movement of motor vehicles, which will be indicated by traffic signs and physically enforced by planters and flexible bollards, at the following locations:- (i) that part of BENHILL ROAD which lies between the south-eastern kerb-line of Elmington Road and a point 10m south of that kerb-line (no access from ELMINGTON ROAD to the part of Benhill Road south of its junction), and (ii) that part of DALWOOD STREET which lies between the north-eastern kerb-line of Havil Street and a point 15.5m north-east of that kerb-line (no access from HAVIL STREET to Dalwood Street);
(c) within CPZ ‘EC’ (i) in ELMINGTON ROAD on both sides o/s Nos. 144 to 148, split and reduce existing permit holders’ parking places by 15m per side, and (ii) in HAVIL STREET north-east side o/s Orange Tree Court, reduce an existing permit holders’ parking places by 6m; and
(d) add new ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions (i) in ELMINGTON ROAD (30m in total) and (ii) in HAVIL STREET (6m) to accommodate the changes to parking.
NOTES: (1) These Orders supersede similar provisions at the above locations implemented by way of experimental Orders made under section 9 of the 1984 Act (which are revoked). (2) Exemption to the restrictions described in (a) and (b) preceding would be provided for emergency services vehicles, and for vehicles used for road maintenance or cleansing purposes. (3) All measurements are in metres ‘m’ and are approximate. Parking charges are listed on www.southwark.gov.uk/parking.
3. 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the order/s or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the order/s may, within six weeks of the date on which the order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
