TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER -
THE TOWER HAMLETS (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (AMENDMENT NO. 24) ORDER 2019, THE TOWER HAMLETS (WAITING LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (MAP BASED) (AMENDMENT NO. 24) ORDER 2019 THE TOWER HAMLETS (TRAFFIC MOVEMENT AND SPEED LIMIT REGULATIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.7) ORDER 2021
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on 31st March 2022 made the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (as amended)
2. The effect of these orders are as follows:
PTO 2025 – Moving Traffic changes
A. Ben Jonson Primary School
i) Introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone operational Mondays to Fridays 8.15 - 9.15 am and 3 – 4 pm with an exemption for permit holders on Essian Street and Commodore Street.
B) Malmesbury Primary School
i) Introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone operational Mondays to Fridays 8.15 – 9.15 am and 3 – 4 pm with NO exemptions on Coborn Street from the junction with Coborn Road to a point in line with the boundary between No 25 and 26 Coborn Street
ii) Introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone operational Mondays to Fridays 8.15 – 9.15 am and 3 – 4 pm with an exemption for permit holders on Coborn Street from the junction with Bow Road to a point in line with the boundary between No 25 and 26 Coborn Street
C) English Martyrs Primary School
i) Introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone operational Mondays to Fridays 8.30 - 9.15 am and 3 – 3.45 pm with an exemption for permit holders on a) West Tenter Street north of South Tender Street, b) North Tenter Street between West Tender Street and St Mark Street and c) Scarborough Street between West Tender Street and St Mark Street
ii) Introduce a one way east bound with exemption for pedal cycles on Scarborough Street between West Tender Street and St Mark Street
. iii) Remove existing one way on South Tender Street between West Tender Street and St Mark Street.
PTO 2026 – Static parking changes
A. Ben Jonson Primary School
i) Introduce no waiting at any time restrictions at the following junctions: a) Commodore Street and Harford Street and b) Essian Street and Harford Street
B. Malmesbury Primary School
i) Remove existing parking bays on the south side outside No.23 and replace with Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 2.45pm.
ii) Introduce no waiting at any time on both sides outside No.26 Coborn Street to provide a suitable turning area.
iii) Extend existing permit bay outside No 36 Coborn Street for approximately 2 metres
iv) Extend the existing permit bay opposite No 38 – 39 Coborn Street (outside the Kirkland Centre) by approximately 6 metres.
v) Introduce a bike hanger on the east side of Coborn Street opposite No.27 Coborn Street
PTO 2046 – Globe Primary School
i) Introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone operational Mondays to Fridays 8.15 - 9.15 am and 2.50 – 3.50 pm with an exemption for permit holders on Cyprus Street, Moravian Street and Gawber Street.
ii) Introduce a one way in Gawber Street between the junction with Moravian Street and Globe Road in a south westerly direction.
iii) Introduce no waiting at any time replacing existing single yellow lines on a) Globe Road either side of the junction with Cyprus Street, b) on the northeast of Cyprus and Moravian Street between No 3 Cyprus Street and No 18 Moravian Street, and c) on the south and west junction between Cyprus and Moravian Street
3. The Regulations, fees and usual exemptions imposed by the governing Traffic Management Orders would apply to the proposals referred to in paragraph 2, as above.
4. A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on 31st March 2022 and all relevant documents can be obtained by writing to; Parking & Mobility Services, 585-593 Commercial Road, London E1 0HJ or by emailing parking.TMO@towerhamlets.gov.uk until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.
5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
