CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE ‘G’ REVIEW

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (CPZ G REVIEW) ORDER 202*

1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that it proposes to make the above orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effect of the orders, following a review of existing parking controls in controlled parking zone ‘G’, would be to extend the hours of operation to Monday to Sunday 8.30 am to 11.00 pm, by:-

(a) providing new consolidated ‘parent’ Traffic Orders for CPZ ‘G’ setting out the new operating hours for the zone;

(b) to extend the hours of operation for all timed waiting restrictions (single yellow lines) to 8:30 am to 11 pm;

(c) to formalise existing waiting restrictions in the following streets: BERMONDSEY WALL EAST, BEVINGTON STREET, EAST LANE, GEORGE ROW, JACOB STREET, LAFONE STREET, LAYARD ROAD, MARIGOLD STREET, SCOTT LIDGETT CRESCENT, SOUTHWARK PARK ROAD, WILSON GROVE, and WOLSELEY STREET; and

(d) to formally correct the operating times of an existing loading bay in SHAD THAMES to operate ‘at any time’ (max stay 40 mins, no return within 2 hrs). Note: No changes have been made to parking bay lengths, or the parking restriction type, throughout the zone. Existing car club parking places, disabled persons’ parking places, doctors parking, motorcycle parking and loading bays located in the zone would not be affected by the proposals.
