1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Ealing, on the 25th May 2021 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 9 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to provide parking places situated on the footway for electric scooters provided for hire in the trial of electric scooters. They will be located in the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

3. The Order, which will come into force on the 7th June 2021, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available by e-mail from trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk or by inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until such time as the Order ceases to have effect.

5. The Order provides that, subject to the provisions of section 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Council’s Head of Highways for the time being, or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, if it appears to him or that person essential:-

(a) in the interest of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic;

(b) in the interest of providing suitable and adequate parking facilities on the highway; or

(c) for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Order runs,

modify or suspend the Order or provisions contained therein.

6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may make application for the purpose to the High Court by the 6th July 2021.

7. If the provisions of the Order continue in force for a period of not less than 6 months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of an Order made under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

8. Anyone who wishes to object to the making of an Order under the said section of the said Act of 1984 for the purpose of such indefinite continuation in force may, between 7th June 2021 and 6th December 2021, send a statement in writing of their objection and grounds thereof including the address of the sender to trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk or by post to the Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference ORD 4287/P
