THE MERTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 487) ORDER 2021
THE MERTON (PROHIBITION OF STOPPING OUTSIDE SCHOOLS) (CONSOLIDATION) TRAFFIC ORDER 2010 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2021
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 10 May 2021, made the above mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the “Waiting and Loading” Order will be to further amend the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1977 so that:-
(a) waiting by vehicles, including for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle, will be prohibited at any time in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 1 to this notice.
(b) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for up to 40 minutes) will be prohibited at any time in the length of street specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.
3. The general effect of the ‘Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools’ Order will be to introduce school entrance markings at the locations specified in Schedule 3 to this notice so as to prohibit any vehicle stopping or remaining at rest between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
4. The prohibition in paragraph 3 above will not apply to:-
(a) any person causing or permitting a vehicle to stop or remain at rest:-
(i) if that person is obliged to do so in order to prevent an accident; or
(ii) if that person is required to do by law;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Metropolitan Police.
5. A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 24 May 2021, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including a plan specifying the lengths of road affected by the Orders, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX. The documents have also been made available for inspection at https://www.merton.gov.uk/streets-parking-transport/traffic-management/consultations .
6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

HIGH PATH, SW19
(a) the north side, between its junction with Morden Road and its junction with Abbey Road;
(b) the south side,
(i) between its junction with Morden Road and a point 15 metres west of a point opposite the eastern kerb-line of Pincott Road;
(ii) from the eastern kerb-line of the north to south arm of High Path leading to Merantun Way eastward for a distance of 15 metres.

the south side, from a point 15 metres west of a point opposite the eastern kerb-line of Pincott Road to the western kerb-line of the north to south arm of High Path leading to Merantun Way.

1. HIGH PATH, SW19, the south side, from a point 15 metres west of a point opposite the eastern kerb-line of Pincott Road eastward for a distance of 43.56 metres.
2. HIGH PATH, SW19, the south side, from a point 38.26 metres east of a point opposite the eastern kerb-line of Pincott Road eastward for a distance 43.56 metres.
3. HIGH PATH, SW19, the south side, from a point 76.36 metres east of the common boundary of St Johns the Divine Church and Merton Abbey Primary School eastward for a distance of 43.56 metres.
4. HIGH PATH, SW19, the south side, from a point 24 metres east of the common boundary of St Johns the Divine Church and Merton Abbey Primary School eastward for a distance of 43.56 metres.
