THE TOWER HAMLETS (CHISENHALE ROAD) (SCHOOL STREET TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (TRAFFIC MOVEMENT AND SPEED LIMIT REGULATIONS) (MAP BASED) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2021 - THE TOWER HAMLETS (CHISENHALE ROAD) (SCHOOL STREET TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (WAITING LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (MAP BASED) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2021 - THE TOWER HAMLETS (CHISENHALE ROAD) (SCHOOL STREET TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2021

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on 8th April 2021 made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (as amended)

2. The effect of these proposals is as follows:

PTO 2050a – CHANGES

a) Introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone between 8.15am – 9.15am and 2.45pm and 3.45pm Monday to Friday on:

I. Chisenhale Road between the junction with Ellesmere Road and the junction with Kenilworth Road.

II. Zealand Road along the entire length.

III. Vivian Road along the entire length.

IV. Kenilworth Road between the junction with Chisenhale Road and Bunsen Street.

b) Introduce prohibition of motor vehicles on Chisenhale Road from the junction with Vivian Road to a point outside No 62 Chisenhale Road.

c) Introduce one way south bound (with a contraflow pedal cycle facility) on Vivian Road between Chisenhale Road and Roman Road.

d) Introduce school play areas:

I. On the south side of Chisenhale Road (including the southern side of the carriageway) from the junction with Vivian Road north eastward for 28m.

II. On the east side of Vivian Road outside the entrance to Chisenhale School opposite Beatrice Webb House (including the eastern side of the carriageway).

e) Remove existing residents parking places on the west side of Vivian Road between Chisenhale Road and outside No 53 Vivian Road and replace with no waiting at any time restrictions.

f) Remove existing resident parking places on the north side of Chisenhale Road between Vivian Road and the joint boundary between 56/58 Chisenhale Road and replace with no waiting at any time restrictions on both sides of Chisenhale Road.

3. A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on 15th April 2021 and all relevant documents, can be obtained by emailing parking.TMO@towerhamlets.gov.uk until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.

4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

5. Relevant comments and objections to this proposal may be made within 6 months from the date of this Order comes into force, via email to school.streets@towerhamlets.gov.uk
