NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has varied the existing Order on the A69 Trunk Road (Bridge End Roundabout) (Temporary Restriction and Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2020 No 800.

The effect of the Order will be, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to:

(i) close the footways adjacent to Bridge End Roundabout;

(ii) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A69 eastbound carriageway from the B6531 Hexham Road Junction to the A6079 Acomb Junction, a distance of 2250 metres;

(iii) impose a temporary 10mph speed restriction on the A69 eastbound carriageway from Acomb Junction to its junction with Bridge End Roundabout, a distance of 1170 metres;

(iv) impose a temporary 10mph speed restriction on the A69 eastbound carriageway from its junction with Bridge End Roundabout to Bank Foot overbridge, a distance of 1160 metres;

(v) impose a temporary 10mph speed restriction on the A69 westbound carriageway from Bank Foot overbridge to its junction with Bridge End Roundabout, a distance of 1160 metres;

(vi) impose a temporary 10mph speed restriction on the A69 westbound carriageway from its junction with Bridge End Roundabout to the unnamed farm access at Acomb, a distance of 1170 metres; and

(vii) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A69 westbound carriageway from the unnamed farm access at Acomb to 584 metres west of Hexham Road Junction, a distance of 2250 metres.

The 10mph limit will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle.

The variation Order will come into force on 26 March 2021 and continue until the works have been completed.
