THE HACKNEY (PRESCRIBED ROUTES AND 20 MPH SPEED LIMITS) (AMENDMENT NO.18) ORDER 2021

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 5th March 2021 the Council of the London Borough of Hackney made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be as follows;

a) Detmold Road (from its junction with Mount Pleasant Hill). - Implement a ‘Pedestrian and Cycle Zone’, operating between 8:30am - 09:15am and 3:15pm - 4:00pm Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Access for emergency services vehicles will be permitted. Access will be permitted by means of special dispensation for residents/ businesses within the affected zone and for blue badge holders who register.

Access for residents to enter and exit the street will be maintained for vehicles registered for an exemption Access will be permitted for Council vehicles and Dial-a-ride.

Two way access for cyclists will be permitted at all times through the zone.

3. Copies of the Order, which will come into force on 15th March 2021, other relevant Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made. Currently such documents can only be requested for inspection by email request made to streetworks@hackney.gov.uk and quoting the above TT reference number.

4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
