PUDDLE DOCK – INTRODUCTION OF A ‘NO VEHICLES AT ANY TIME’ RESTRICTION IN THE WESTERN ARM

THE CITY OF LONDON (PROHIBITED AND COMPULSORY MOVEMENTS) (AMENDMENTS NO. 4) ORDER 2021

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Common Council of the City of London on 7 January 2021 made the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The effect of the Orders will be in Puddle Dock to:-

(a) close the western arm that lies between Queen Victoria Street and Blackfriars Passage to all vehicles at all times; and

(b) revoke the one way traffic restriction and mandatory left turn only restriction at the junction with Queen Victoria Street that become redundant with the closure.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 16 January 2021, of the statement of reasons for making the Orders and of a plan showing the affected streets can be found on the City of London website for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made. Should the Guildhall reopen during the six week period then copies of the above documents may be viewed during normal office hours on Monday to Fridays inclusive at the Planning Enquiry Desk, North Wing, Guildhall, London, EC2P 2EJ.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
