PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PROPOSED PARKING CHANGES 'HAVE YOUR SAY'

The Council proposes to make changes to the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

THE TOWER HAMLETS (WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2020

THE TOWER HAMLETS (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2020

1. The effect of these proposals is as follows:

PTO (2029, 2030, 2031, 2032)

Various Waiting and Loading changes:

a) (PTO 2029): Convert existing single yellow lines to double yellow lines on (i) Tiller Road – Southside, east of The Tiller Centre and Northside, outside Alexander House, (ii) Mellish Street: opposite no.157 & outside no.159 and at its junction with (including) Tiller Road, (iii) Oban Street outside no.45 – 47, (iv) Alpha Grove outside no.46, (v) West Ferry Road between Harbinger Road and Chapel House Street, Dockers Tanner road and Arnhem Place (vi) Devonport Street at its junctions with Cable Street (vii) Watney Street outside 106 to 110 for 10m (viii) Burslem Street outside no.18 (ix) Chilton Street outside no.46-48 and at its junctions with (including) Bacon Street (x) Clare Street; PTO (2030) in the following - (xi) Hobday Street (xii) Godalming Road (xiii) Chrisp Street, between Morris Road and flank wall of no.74 Chrisp Street (xiv) Morris Road between Rifle Street and Chrisp Street (xv) Carmen Street (except outside no.52 to 72)

b) To convert single yellow lines to double yellow lines and introduce no Loading Mon – Fri 8am to 6pm on Manchester Road between no.145 and 203.

c) To make the current temporary No Waiting and no Loading ‘At Any Time’ restrictions permanent on West Ferry Road, between Chapel House Street and East Ferry Road.

d) To convert the existing single yellow line to double yellow lines and no Loading at any time on (i) Cable Street (between no.490 and 504 (ii) Burslem Street between no.18 and 24 for 13m (iii) Sidney Street, south of Raven Row for 11m; (iv) PTO (2030): Carmen Street outside no.24 to 35.

To introduce parking bays (PTO 2029):

e) Loading bay on Watney Street outside no.106/110 to operate Mon – Sat 8.30am to 5.30pm with 20 mins max stay and no return within 40 mins.

f) General Disabled bay on Burslem Street outside the surgery to operate 3 hours max stay and no return within same day.

g) Loading bay on Cannon Street Road outside no. 119-123 to operate Mon – Fri 8.30am to 5.50pm, with 20 mins max stay and no return within 2 hours.

h) PTO (2031): Permit and Pay by Phone on (i) Cannon Street road outside no.115 (ii) PTO (2031) Jubilee Street outside Jubilee Gardens.

i) To revoke the Permit holder parking bay on West Street and replace it with double yellow lines.

j) PTO (2032): Taxi Rank on (i) single space on Cambridge Heath road opposite no.289 by removing double yellow line and no loading to operate at all times (ii) two spaces on Bethnal Green Road outside the Shoreditch High Street station, to operate outside of the bus lane operational hours of Mon – Sat 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm.

2. The Regulations, fees and usual exemptions imposed by the governing Traffic Management Orders would apply to the proposals referred to in paragraph 1 above.

3. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and all relevant documents can be inspected, by prior appointment, at the Parking & Mobility Services Offices, 585-593 Commercial Road, London E1 0HJ (020 7364 6949/6952), during normal office hours on Monday to Friday inclusive until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published.

4. Any objections or other representations about the proposed Orders should be sent by email to parking.tmo@towerhamlets.gov.uk or in writing to the above address within 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
