LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49,51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The East Finchley ‘M’ Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), operates between 10am and 6.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays. In order to deter ‘M’ resident permit holders who live outside the roads or lengths of road listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice from parking in these roads during the controlled periods, it is proposed to create a new resident permit designation for the CPZ in those roads.

The general effect of the “Charged-for…” Order would be to:

1. Amend the resident permit designation of all resident permit parking places and shared-use resident permit/business permit parking places with a current ‘M’ permit designation in the roads listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice from ‘M’ to a new permit designation.

2. Remove the eligibility of all those living in the addresses outlined in the Schedule 2 to this Notice to obtain ‘M’ parking permits and vouchers.

3. Allow all those living in the addresses outlined in the Schedule 2 to this Notice to have the eligibility to purchase parking permits and vouchers of the new permit designation referred to in 1 above.

4. Amend the shared use resident permit and business permit parking places in Durham Road N2, situated to the side of Nos. 56 and 58 Fortis Green, so that it accommodates the new permit designation referred to in 1 above, and not the current ‘M’ resident permit.

In order to improve the existing parking provision on street at Baronsmere Road, Summerlee Gardens, Ingram Road and Fairlawn Avenue N2, the Orders would increase the lengths of some existing resident permit or shared-use resident/business permit holder only parking places as appropriate, operational between the hours of 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday at the following locations, through the removal of existing 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday waiting restrictions:

Location of existing resident permit or shared-use resident and business permit holders only parking bays Length of parking place increase/waiting restriction removal
Summerlee Gardens (side of No.63 Summerlee Avenue) Approximately 1 metre
Outside No.1 Ingram Road Approximately 1 metre
Outside No.2 Ingram Road Approximately 0.85 metres
Opposite No.7 to 12 Cedar Drive Approximately 0.7 metres
Outside No. 6 Fairlawn Avenue Approximately 0.6 metres

In order to improve the existing parking provision on street at Baronsmere Road N2 the Orders would increase the lengths of two payment parking only bays operational between the hours of 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday at the following locations, through the removal of existing 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday waiting restrictions:

Location of existing payment parking bays Length of parking place increase/waiting restriction removal
Baronsmere Road (side of No.34 High Road) Approximately 0.7 metres
Baronsmere Road (side of No.34 High Road) Approximately 0.7 metres

A copy of the proposed Orders, an associated plan of the relevant area and the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published at:
