THE REDBRIDGE (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (EXPERIMENTAL) (NO.1) ORDER 2019

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge on 28 August 2019 made the above-mentioned Order under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers. The general effect of the Experimental Traffic Order, which comes into operation on 9 September 2019, will be to prohibit motor vehicles from entering the lengths of road during the restricted hours specified in the schedules to this notice. Access during the prohibited times will be permitted by means of special dispensation for residents and businesses located within the affected lengths of road and for blue badge holders who register. The reason for proceeding by way of an experimental Order is to assess the provisions of this prohibition before consideration is given to whether the experimental Order should be altered or made permanent.

Plans of these measures can be inspected from 9.30am to 8.00pm, Monday to Friday (except on bank holidays) and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays, at the Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1EA until such a time as the Order ceases to have effect. The experimental provisions can continue in force for a maximum of 18 months as a trial period before a permanent Order is considered. Within a period of 6 months from the coming into operation of this experimental Order any person may object to the making of a permanent Order. Any objection must be in writing, giving the grounds on which it is made and be sent to the Parking Design Team at 10th Floor (front) Lynton House, 255 - 259 High Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 1NY, or email: parking.schemes@redbridge.gov.uk

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Dated 29 August 2019
