THE PETROLEUM ACT 1998
VIKING SATELLITES KD, LD, AR, SUBSEA TIE-BACK VIXEN VM, VIKING BRAVO HUB BA, BC, BP, BD AND ASSOCIATED INFIELD PIPELINES DECOMMISSIONING PROGRAMMES
ConocoPhillips (U.K.) Limited has submitted, for the consideration of the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, the draft Decommissioning Programmes for the Viking Satellites KD, LD, AR, Subsea Tie-Back Vixen VM, Viking Bravo Hub BA, BC, BP, BD and their Associated Infield Pipelines, in accordance with the provisions of the Petroleum Act 1998. It is a requirement of the Act that interested parties be consulted on such decommissioning proposals.
The items/facilities covered by the Decommissioning Programmes are:
The Viking and Vixen Fields are spread over a 24 km diameter sector in the Southern North Sea, approximately 138 km due East of Theddlethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast. The Viking KD, LD and AR infrastructure is in Blocks 49/12a, 49/17a, 49/12a respectively and the Viking Bravo Hub (BA, BC, BP and BD) and the Vixen VM subsea infrastructures are all in Block 49/17a. The facilities include three infield satellite platforms, each comprising a topside and a jacket structure, one subsurface installation, two subsea tees, 12 infield pipelines (6 gas, 5 piggy-backed methanol and 1 control umbilical) and a 138 km trunkline to Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal (TGT) (comprising a 28” gas export and piggy-backed 3” methanol pipeline) and associated stabilisation features.
