THE M57 MOTORWAY JUNCTION 7 (SWITCH ISLAND) (50 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No.09346363) intends to make the above-mentioned Order, under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the M57 Motorway in the Borough of Sefton in the County of Merseyside.
The effect of the Order, if made as proposed, would be to:
Impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the northbound carriageway of the M57 Motorway at Junction 7, from a point 520 metres west of the Spencer’s Lane Bridge, to a point 55 metres east of the Dunning New Railway Bridge.
Impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the northbound carriageway of the M57 Motorway at Junction 7, from a point 55 metres east of the Dunning New Railway Bridge, to a point where the M57 northbound carriageway joins the roundabout of the A59 Dunning’s Bridge Road at Switch Island.
The speed limit will not apply to vehicles being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance services, or special-forces.
A copy of the Order and Notice, together with a Plan, and a Statement of Reasons, have been deposited at the Netherton Library, Glover’s Lane, Netherton, L30 3TL, and also at the offices of Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald-Area 10, Spencer House, Dewhurst Road, Birchwood, Warrington WA3 7PG, where they may be inspected during normal opening hours, or they may be seen at, or obtained by application to, the Director, Highways England Company Limited, Operations Directorate, Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester, M1 2WD, making reference to this Notice.
Any person wishing to object to the Highways England proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objections and grounds thereof to the Directors address given above, making reference to this Notice, to be received no later than Thursday 23 August 2018.
When submitting an objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
