THE NEWHAM (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 128) ORDER 2018

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham on 22 January 2018 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended

2. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce parking controls in Dockside Road. The new provisions will include:

• ‘short stay’ parking places outside the east wing of Newham Dockside, Dockside Road in which vehicles may be left from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday for a maximum period of 2 hours (no return within 1 hour) at a charge of £2 for 1 hour or £3 for 2 hours;

• ‘short stay’ parking places outside the main entrance of Newham Dockside, Dockside Road in which vehicles may be left from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday for a maximum period of 30 minutes (no return within 1 hour) at a charge of £1; (Payment of the above parking charges would be by means of the Council’s cashless payment system by making an approved credit/debit card payment by mobile phone or via the internet.)

waiting restrictions operating from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday or ‘at any time’;

disabled Persons’ parking places outside the east wing of Newham Dockside, Dockside Road in which vehicles displaying a Disabled (blue) badge may be left for a maximum period of 4 hours (no return within 2 hours). The parking places would operate from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday;

visitor permit parking places outside the west wing of Newham Dockside, Dockside Road in which vehicles displaying a Visitor Parking Permit issued by Newham Dockside Reception may be left from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday for a maximum period of 4 hours (no return within 2 hours). These permits would be issued free of charge; and

loading bays outside the main entrance of Newham Dockside, Dockside Road in which vehicles may load/unload for a maximum period of 30 minutes (no return within 1 hour). The loading bays would operate from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 29 January 2018, and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection during normal office hours on Monday to Friday at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.

4. If any person wishes to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
