THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 8) TRAFFIC ORDER 2017
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 11th September 2017 made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be, in connection with the redevelopment of Bonhams Auction House, to:
(a) pedestrianise the area of carriageway of Haunch of Venison Yard immediately in front of the entrance to Bonhams (for a distance of approximately 8 metres);
(b) remove the existing motorcycle parking place in Haunch of Venison Yard; and
(c) extend the existing motorcycle parking place on the north side of Brook’s Mews, to the rear of Claridge’s by 1 metre.
3. Please note the proposal to relocate part of the existing motorcycle parking place from Haunch of Venison Yard to outside Nos. 66 to 68 Brook Street, as detailed in the Notice of Proposals published on 27th May 2016, has been revised. The motorcycle parking place will be relocated to outside Nos. 40 and 42 Brook Street as part of the Brook Street / Davis Street Two-Way Public Realm Scheme.
4. The Orders, which will come into force on 18th September 2017, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until 23rd October 2017 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at WSP, Palace Gardens Suite, 27th Floor, Portland House, Bressenden Place, London, SW1E 5RS.
5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
