NOTICE OF CHANGES TO CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES (ZONES C & K)

THE ISLINGTON (PARKING PLACES) (ZONES C & K) (NO. 50) ORDER 2017

THE ISLINGTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 7) ORDER 2017

THE ISLINGTON (PARKING PLACES) (TIMES AND TARIFFS) (AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER 2017

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington on 8 June 2017 made the above mentioned Orders in exercise of its powers under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be, for the Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Notice, to:

a) change the CPZ hours so that they will operate at the times specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this Notice. This would affect CPZ parking places and single yellow lines (other than single yellow lines that have existing alternative hours of control indicated by traffic signs placed on-street);

b) introduce a flat-rate pay and display charge that will apply during the hours specified in column 3 of the Schedule to this Notice. The charge during these periods would be £2.40 which would allow for parking up to the maximum parking period of the individual parking place; and

c) introduce a visitors' free E-voucher which will allow parking for vehicles in residents, shared use (residents, business and pay and display) and permit parking places during the hours specified in column 4 of the Schedule to this Notice. Residents currently eligible for a residents' permit would be able to apply for an unlimited number of visitors' free E-vouchers which would be valid in the zone within which the applicant is a resident. There would be no charge for visitor's free E-vouchers.

[note: on public holidays, controls will only apply to waiting restrictions, not parking places]

3. The Orders, which will come into force on 26 June 2017 and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection during normal office hours at the following location:

Public Realm, 1 Cottage Road, London N7 8TP

Further information may be obtained by telephoning Public Realm on 020 7527 2000.

4. Any person who wishes to question the validity of any of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any other relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the high court by 21 July 2017.
