THE NEWHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 2016
MELFORD ROAD E6 – PROPOSED CHANGE TO EXISTING ONE-WAY WORKING FOR TRAFFIC
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham proposes to make the above mentioned Order under Sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The effect of the Order would be to amend the provisions of the Newham (Prescribed Routes) (No. 2) Traffic Order 2015 so that the existing one-way working for traffic (except pedal cycles) in the whole length of Melford Road from east to west would no longer apply in that length between High Street South and a point 4 metres west of the common boundary of Nos. 14 and 16 Melford Road, which would revert to two-way working for all traffic. One-way working (except for pedal cycles) would continue to apply between that point and its junction with Sandford Road.
3. Copies of the proposed Order, together with documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, can be inspected from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, until six weeks after the date on which the Order is made or until the proposed Order is withdrawn, as appropriate.
4. Further information can be obtained by telephoning 020 3373 4308.
5. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing by 8 March 2017. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. They should be sent to the Head of Commissioning (Highways and Traffic), London Borough of Newham, 3rd Floor West, Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road, London E16 2QU or by email to: traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk
6. Anyone objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985 this Council may be obliged to make any comments in respect of this Notice open to public inspection.
JOHN BIDEN Head of Commissioning (Highways and Traffic)
Dated 15 February 2017.
