BOND STREET PUBLIC REALM IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:

• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Bicycles) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (London Cycle Hire Scheme) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Car Club Parking Places) (No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Loading Bays) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Motorcycle Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (E Zone) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Prescribed Routes) (No. *) Traffic Order 201*;

• The City of Westminster (Taxi Rank) (Amendment No. *) Order 201*; and

• The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be, in connection with the Bond Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme, to create a restricted parking zone in Old Bond Street and New Bond Street. Waiting and loading restrictions would apply “at any time” within the restricted parking zone to replace existing parking controls. The restricted parking zone would also extend into:

• Brook Street, between South Molton Street and Hanover Square;

• Burlington Gardens, between New Bond Street and Cork Street;

• Clifford Street, between New Bond Street and Cork Street;

• Dering Street, the eastern arm;

• Grafton Street, between New Bond Street and Albemarle Street; and

• Stafford Street, between Old Bond Street and Albemarle Street.

3. Details of proposed parking facilities in the restricted parking zone and adjacent to the zone (where applicable) are set out in the Schedule to this Notice.

4. The Council also intends to:

(a) prohibit south-westbound vehicles from turning left from Conduit Street into New Bond Street;

(b) in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to introduce pedestrian “zebra” crossings:

• at the junction of Grosvenor Street, New Bond Street and Maddox Street (4 crossings); and

• in New Bond Street, north-west of Dering Street;

(c) extend the zig-zag markings on the north-west side of the pedestrian “zebra” crossing outside No. 24 Old Bond Street, north-westward to the party wall of Nos. 179 and 180 New Bond Street.

5. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, 10th Floor, Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP.

7.
