Notices under the Trustee Act 1925
NOTICE UNDER SECTION 27 OF THE TRUSTEE ACT 1925
SUN VALLEY PENSION SCHEME
This notice is addressed to former employees of Sun Valley Foods Limited (also trading as Cargill Meats Europe).
The Sun Valley Pension Scheme (the “Scheme”) was merged into the Cargill Pension Plan on the 29 February 2016 which resulted in the transfer of both the Scheme’s assets and the benefits of Scheme members to the Cargill Pension Plan on that date. The Scheme has therefore started the process of winding-up and the Trustees have been distributing the remainder of the Scheme’s assets to the Scheme’s beneficiaries in line with the Scheme’s Rules and applicable legislation.
If you were an employee of Sun Valley Foods Limited and a member of the Scheme and think you may be entitled to benefits under the Scheme but have not been contacted in respect of those benefits, or you are a widow/widower, child or dependant of such an employee, and in every case, have not received correspondence about your benefits and the Scheme’s merger with the Cargill Pension Plan since January 2015 please contact the Trustees of the Scheme c/o Mercer Limited, Westgate House, 52 Westgate, Chichester, PO19 3HF by no later than 30 August 2016. You should include details of your current address and any benefits which you think you are entitled to.
It is the Trustees’ intention to complete the wind up of the Scheme as soon as possible. If the Trustees are not aware of any entitlement you may have under the Scheme by 30 August 2016 they will not be liable to pay benefits to you.
If you already receive a pension from the Scheme, or you have received announcements from the Trustees regarding the merger with the Cargill Pension Plan and subsequent wind-up, you do not need to write to the Trustees as they already have full details about your entitlements.
Issued on behalf of the Trustees of the Sun Valley Pension Scheme.
