EXTENSION OF THE HARLINGTON VILLAGE CONSERVATION AREA
Notice is hereby given under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 Section 69 that the London Borough of Hillingdon has made alterations to the boundaries of the Harlington Village Conservation Area. These changes are described in Schedule 1 of this Notice and these areas are considered to be of special architectural or historic interest, the character of appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.
The effects of designation are as follows:
1. Planning Permission will be required for the relevant demolition of unlisted buildings in the conservation area;
2. Planning applications for development, that will in the opinion of the local planning authority affect the character or appearance of the Conservation Area, will be given publicity and representations received as a result of that publicity must be taken into account in determining the applications;
3. There is a requirement to give six weeks notice (Section 211 Notice) to the Council for proposals to prune, lop, uproot, or fell a tree within a Conservation Area. It is an offence to wilfully damage or destroy any tree in the area without the consent of the Local Planning Authority;
4. Existing Lawful Development Certificates may be superseded by the requirements of Conservation Area designation; and
5. It is the duty of the Local Planning Authority from time to time to formulate and publish proposals for the preservation or enhancement of the area.
The extension of the Harlington Village Conservation Area will also affect certain Permitted Development Rights for householders within these areas.
A map of the designated area may be inspected at the Planning Information Services area, third floor, Civic Centre, High Street, Uxbridge UB8 1UW (between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday).
