CHANGES TO THE LAYOUT OF A PARKING PLACE IN DORSET ROAD AND NEW AT ANY TIME WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BOLNEY STREET AND DORSET ROAD
[NOTE: This notice is about the reduction of an existing shared use parking place in Dorset Road and new “at any time” waiting restrictions in lengths of Dorset Road (where the parking place has been removed) and Bolney Street, as part of a new road safety scheme which includes kerb build outs and a speed table.]
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth on 8th July 2015 made the Lambeth (Kennington) (Parking Places) (No. 2) Order 2015 and the Lambeth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 242) Order 2015, under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 11th July 2015.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to:—
(a) reduce the length of shared-use (residents’/business/pay and display) parking place situated in Dorset Road, on the north-east side outside Charmouth House by 11.5 metres to accommodate the installation of a new flat top road hump and pedestrian crossing point. Waiting by vehicles will be banned at any time (double yellow lines) where that parking place used to be;
(b) extend the existing double yellow lines in Bolney Street on the south-east side at its junction with Dorset Road. There will be no changes to the existing parking place adjacent to the existing double yellow lines at this location.
3. This is necessary to reduce vehicle speeds, so as to improve road safety for all road users at the junction of Bolney Street and Dorset Road.
4. If you have any enquiries, please telephone the Council’s Transportation Group on 0207 926 1240.
5. A copy of each of the Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about them (including a map) are available for inspection between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, at: the offices of Lambeth Council’s Transportation Group, 5th Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP. To arrange inspection please telephone 0207 926 0209.
6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
