SECTION 116 OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY TO STOP UP THE HIGHWAY AT MARUNDEN GREEN, ROKESBY ROAD & WENTWORTH AVENUE, SLOUGH, BERKSHIRE
NOTICE is given that Slough Borough Council as Highway Authority for the highway known as Marunden Green, Rokesby Road & Wentworth Avenue, Slough in the County of Berkshire intends to apply to Reading Magistrates Court sitting at Civic Centre, Castle Street, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 7TQ on 15 May 2015 at 11:00am for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of an area of the highway at Marunden Green, Rokesby Road & Wentworth Avenue shown shaded blue on the attached plan (“Plan”) on the ground that the highway is unnecessary. The effect of the Order will be to extinguish all public rights of way over the said land.
A copy of the draft Order and Plan may be inspected free of charge between the hours of 09:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays and public holidays) from 15 April 2015 to 15 May 2015 at the Council Offices at:
• Main Reception, St Martin’s Place, 51 Bath Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 3UF; and
• My Council, Landmark Place, High Street, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 1JL
Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application.
Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates’ Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform Sundas Aslam, Paralegal at sundas.aslam@slough.gov.uk, Legal Services, St Martin’s Place, 51 Bath Road, Slough, Berkshire SL1 3UF before 15 May 2015 quoting reference SA/016622.
