PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF PERMIT HOLDER ONLY OFF-STREET CAR PARK WITHIN THE SURREY STREET BASEMENT CAR PARK, CROYDON
THE CROYDON (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (NO. 2) TRAFFIC ORDER 2012 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2015
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 09 March 2015 made the above Traffic Order under Sections 32, 35, 124 of, and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to designate the Surrey Street basement car park for the use of Surrey Street Traders’ permit holders only as detailed below:-
(a) all vehicles left in parking spaces within the Surrey Street basement car park must hold a valid Surrey Street Trader’s virtual paperless permit for that parking space;
(b) virtual paperless permits would be issued only to bona-fide Surrey Street Market traders who are let a specific parking space within the Surrey Street basement car park under a signed agreement;
(c) permits would be free of charge to Surrey Street Traders as described above;
(d) permit holders’ vehicles loading/unloading or delivering/collecting goods from or to Surrey Street Market would be permitted to use the car park for this purpose for up to a maximum of 20 minutes whilst this activity was being carried out.
3. Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on the 16 March 2015 can be inspected during normal Office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, at the Enquiry Counter, “Access Croydon” Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA.
4. Copies of the Order may be obtained from Order Making Section, Parking Services, P.O. Box 1462, Croydon, CR9 1WX.
5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
