Gazette logo re-use policy

As the official public record, the information on The Gazette website is free and available for anyone to research, use and re-use under the terms of the Open Government Licence v3.0. However, please note that this licence does not cover the re-use of personal data. For further information, please see our privacy policy.

The Gazette actively encourages other websites to link to our website; it not only helps us raise awareness of the rich amount of data our digital archives hold, but you can be confident that any Gazette web address you point to will remain in place for generations to come. For further information please see our linking policy.

Information is published by The Gazette either because there is a legislative requirement to do so, or because the information within a notice is deemed in the UK’s public interest to make available in the public domain. As a result, The Gazette logo is a valuable asset, celebrating a strong history as an authoritative and trusted source of information, and must not be altered or modified in any way.

While the Open Government Licence v3.0 encourages the use and re-use of information available under this licence freely and flexibly, it does not include the re-use or replication of The Gazette logo on any published material or website without the prior permission of The Stationery Office (TSO), acting on behalf of The National Archives. For clarity, the term ’Gazette logo’ refers to the following image examples:

      standalone logo                                  gazette strapline logo
Example without strapline                              Example with strapline

This includes, but is not limited to, logo versions in mono, reverse colour, or where additional text or straplines have been added, such as ‘official public record’, ‘working with’ or ‘sponsored by’, or to denote a particular edition, such as ‘Edinburgh edition’, ‘Belfast edition’, or ‘London edition’, or variations of the logo design for social media purposes.

While we welcome the opportunity to increase brand awareness of The Gazette, TSO has a duty to ensure that this is done in an appropriate and authoritative manner, and therefore all requests to re-use The Gazette Logo must be approved by TSO prior to use.  Currently, the following companies and organisations have been approved to re-use The Gazette logo:
