PROVISION OF ZEBRA CROSSING IN MERTON AVENUE AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN WOOD END WAY

THE EALING (PROHIBITION OF STOPPING OUTSIDE SCHOOLS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) TRAFFIC ORDER 201*

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Ealing (“the Council”) proposes to make the above mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  • 2 The general effect of the Waiting Restriction Order would be to:
    • a impose double yellow line waiting restrictions applying “at any time“ in the length of Wood End Way specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
    • b impose single yellow line waiting restrictions applying between 8.00 am and 9.30 am and between 3pm and 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays in the length of Wood End Way specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
  • 3 The general effect of the Prohibition of Stopping outside Schools Order would be to revise the location of the school keep clear markings outside the entrance to the Greenwood Primary School. The prohibition on stopping would continue to apply between 8.00 am and 9.30 am and between 3pm and 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays.
  • 4 FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council under the powers of section 90c of the Highways Act 1980 propose to extend the existing raised table in Merton Avenue at its junction with Wood End Way by approximately 6 metres so that it would have a total length of 12 metres.
  • 5 FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council under the powers of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the powers of section 90c of the Highways Act 1980, propose to create a zebra pedestrian crossing in Merton Avenue which will be sited on the raised table referred to in paragraph 4. The zebra crossing controlled area would extend from Wood End Way to a point approximately 10 metres south of the crossing.
  • 6 The Orders, other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders and of the zebra crossing and traffic calming measures, are available for inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders.

  • 8 Any objections or other representations about either of the proposed Orders or the zebra crossing and traffic calming measures should be sent in writing to the Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference ORD 3730/djc until the 3rd May 2013. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
