THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO.) ORDER 201

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  • 2 The general effect of the ‘Waiting and Loading Restriction’ Order would be to further amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that:
    • a waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
    • b waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 40 minutes in the same place would be prohibited throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
    • c the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected;
    • d the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited;
    • e any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any vehicle or animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice would be revoked.
  • 3 The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraph 2(a) above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue Badge” would apply.
  • 4 A copy of the proposed Order, of maps of the relevant areas, of the above mentioned Order of 1979 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order at:
    • a The One Stop Local Office, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middx, HA9 9HX; and
    • b The One Stop Local Office, Brent House, 349 - 357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ.
  • 5 Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Transportation Service, telephone number 020 8937 5452.
  • 6 Persons desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, to Head of Transportation, Transportation Service, 2nd Floor (west) Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ, quoting the reference TO/02/165/EAM, to arrive no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.

Waiting restrictions (At any time)

Bengeworth Road

between the north-eastern kerb-line of Sudbury Court Road and a point 15.00 metres south-west of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 1 and 3 Bengeworth Road.

Donnington Road

the south-west side, between a point 10.00 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Mountington Park Close and a point 2.00 metres south-east of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 23 and 25 Donnington Road.

Elms Lane

the north-east and south-east sides, between a point 6.50 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Sudbury Court Road and a point 3.00 metres north-west of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 97 and 99 Elms Lane.

Hillway

  • a the north-west side
    • i between the south-western kerb-line of Kinloch Drive and a point 1.00 metre north-east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 1 and 3 Hillway;
    • ii between the north-eastern kerb-line of Wood Lane and a point 10.00 metres north-east of that kerb-line;
  • b the south-east side

between the south-western kerb-line of Donnington Road and a point 10.00 metres south-west of that kerb-line.

Park View

the south and south-east sides, between a point 6.50 metres east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 53 and 55 Park View and a point 2.00 metres south-west of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 55 and 57 Park View.

Princes Avenue

the north-west side, between a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 8 and 10 Princes Avenue and a point 3.00 metres north-east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 12 and 14 Princes Avenue.

Saddlers Mews

  • a the north-east and north-west sides, between a point opposite the north-western building wall of No. 9 The Boltons north-westward and then south-westward to a point opposite the north-eastern building wall of No. 4 Saddlers Mews;
  • b the south-west and south-east sides, between a point opposite the north-western building wall of No. 9 The Boltons north-westward and then south-westward for a distance of 11.00 metres measured along the kerb-line.

Sudbury Court Road

the north-east side
