EXTENSION OF FURZEDOWN CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE (F1)

THE WANDSWORTH (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (SPECIAL PARKING AREAS) (NO.2) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2012
- 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth on 11th September 2012 made the above Orders under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
- 2 The general effect of the Orders will be to extend the Furzedown controlled parking zone as an experiment into Ramsdale Road (between Chillerton Road and Gorse Rise).
- 3 The following provisions will apply to the extended controlled parking zone —
• Parking places will be designated in the length of road described in paragraph 2 above.
• Parking places will be for permit holders only with the maximum parking period being unrestricted. The hours of operation will be 11.00am to 12.00 noon on Mondays to Fridays.
• Vehicles which may be left in the parking places during the hours of operation will be vehicles displaying either a valid resident permit, a valid visitor permit or a valid business permit appropriate to the F1 zone or motor cycles (exempt from charge).
• The charge for resident permits will be £20 (1 month), £50 (3 months) or £120 (12 months) and they will be issued to any person residing in the extended Furzedown F1 zone who is the owner of a passenger vehicle (12 seats or less) or a goods carrying vehicle the overall height of which does not exceed 3.2 metres (10ft 6ins), the length of which does not exceed 6.5 metres (21ft 4ins) and the maximum gross weight of which does not exceed 5 tonnes. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled the charge will be £30 for 12 months.
• The charge for business permits available in all zones will be £250 (3 months), £450 (6 months) or £760 (12 months) and they will be issued to any person who occupies premises in the extended Furzedown F1 zone and who uses such premises for non-residential purposes or is employed in those premises and who is the owner of a vehicle of the class mentioned above. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled the charge will be £225 for six months or £380 for 12 months. For vehicles that carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £337.50 for six months or £570 for 12 months. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled and carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £225 for six months or £380 for 12 months.
• The charge for business permits available in one individual sub-zone only will be £190 (3 months), £340 (6 months) or £270 (12 months) and they will be issued to any person who occupies premises in the extended Furzedown F1 zone and who uses such premises for non-residential purposes or is employed in those premises and who is the owner of a vehicle of the class mentioned above. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled the charge will be £170 for six months and £285 for 12 months. For vehicles that carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £255 for six months or £427.50 for 12 months. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled and carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £170 for six months or £285 for 12 months.
• The charge for visitor permits will be £2 per day (£1 per day if the applicant is aged 65 or over or the holder of a disabled person’s badge) and they will be issued to any household in the extended Furzedown F1 zone. Each household will be restricted to not more than one hundred visitor permits per year (two hundred if the applicant is aged 65 or over or the holder of a disabled person’s badge).
• NOTE – All resident permits will only be valid within the sub zone in which the permit holder resides.
• All permits will be issued by Wandsworth Borough Council on application being made together with payment of the appropriate charge.
• Generally yellow line waiting restrictions will be imposed in that length of Ramsdale Road (between Chillerton Road and Gorse Rise) which is not occupied by parking places. The restrictions will operate between 11.00am and 12.00 noon on Mondays to Fridays. Existing waiting restrictions which operate for longer than those hours will remain.
- 4 Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 24th September 2012, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of six months from the date on which the Orders were made in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU.
- 5 Copies of the Orders may be obtained from Engineering and Design Services, Department of Environment and Community Services at the address given below - telephone (020) 8871 6691.
- 6 While the Orders remain in force the Director of Environment and Community Services, or some person authorised by him, may modify or suspend the Orders or any provision contained in them if it appears to him or that other person essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or of the provision of suitable and adequate parking facilities on the highway or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders runs.
- 7 The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of Orders under sections 6, 45, 46 and 49 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person wishing to object to the making of Orders for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation may, within the above mentioned period of six months, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Director of Environment and Community Services at the address below (quoting the reference ES/TMO1303).
- 8 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements of that Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
