THE BRENT (PARKING PLACES) (NO. ) ORDER 200
THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. ) ORDER 200
- 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985, the Parking Acts of 1986 and 1989 and the Traffic Management Act 2004;
- 2 The general effect of the ‘Parking Places’ Order would be to:
- a designate parking places that would operate between 8.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays in Abbey Road specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
- b specify that:
- i each parking place may be used, subject to the provisions of the Order, for the leaving during the permitted hours of such vehicles as are passenger vehicles, goods carrying vehicles, or invalid carriages displaying a valid parking ticket or a parking voucher. Motor cycles park free;
- ii the maximum initial period for which a vehicle, displaying a valid parking ticket may be left during the permitted hours in the parking places would be 2 hours;
- iii the charge for short term parking in the parking places would be 40 pence for 20 minutes, £1-00 for 40 minutes, £1-80 for 60 minutes and £4-00 for 120 minutes, the tickets for which would be issued by pay and display meters;
- iv the interval before a vehicle may again be left in a parking place after the expiration of the period for which the initial charge was incurred would be 1 hour.
- 3 The general effect of the ‘Waiting and Loading Restriction’ Order would be further
to amend the parent Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order, so that:-
- a waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
- b waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited between 8.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in the length of street specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice;
- c waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited between 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the length of street specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice;
- d waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place would be prohibited between 11.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. throughout the week in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice, between 11.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays in the length of street specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice and between 11.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays in the length of street specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice;
- e the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected;
(f) the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited;
(g) any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in certain lengths of streets specified in Schedules 2, 3 and 4 to this Notice, would be revoked.
- 4 The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraph 3(a), (b), (c) and (d) above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue Badge” would apply.
- 5 A copy of each of the proposed Orders, of maps of the relevant areas, of the above-mentioned
parent Order and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders
can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until
the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published
at:
- a The One Stop Local Office, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middx, HA9 9HX; and
- b The One Stop Local Office, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ.
- 6 Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Transportation Service Unit, telephone number 020 8937 5452.
- 7 Persons desiring to make representations or to object to either of the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, to Head of Transportation, Transportation Service Unit, 2nd Floor (east) Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ, quoting the reference TO/02/134/EAM, before the afore-mentioned date.

- ii from a point 39.40 metres north-west of Nos. 195 and 197 Anson Road to a point 3.40 metres south-east of the south-eastern wall of Nos. 26 to 42 Gladstone Court, Anson Road.
