WAITING RESTRICTIONS, VARIOUS LOCATIONS

THE KINGSTON UPON THAMES (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NOS. 43-44) TRAFFIC ORDERS 2008

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames on 3rd November 2008 made the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended: —
  • 2 The general effect of the Orders, which will come into force on 10th November 2008, will be to introduce single and double yellow line waiting restrictions in certain lengths of

Aragon Road, Kingston, Barnfield Avenue, Kingston, Beaconsfield Road, Surbiton, Bertram Road, Kingston, Birchington Road, Surbiton, Cardinal Avenue, Kingston, Compton Crescent, Chessington, Fernhill Gardens, Kingston, Gordon Road, Surbiton, Marston Avenue, Chessington, Tudor Drive, Kingston, Upper Park Road, Kingston, Whitehall Crescent, Chessington and Wolsey Drive, Kingston.

Please note;

• a full description of the extent of all the above restrictions was given in the Notice of Proposals published in the Surrey Comet on 18th June 2008.

• the “double yellow line” restrictions at the Beaconsfield Road junctions with Birchington Road and Gordon Road will be reduced to 3 metres.

• the “double yellow line” restrictions in Bertram Road, Kingston, (at its junction with Upper park Road), will be reduced to 5 metres.

• the proposed restrictions in School Passage Kingston have been deferred.

• other restrictions proposed in the same Notice for lengths of roads in Chessington, Kingston and Surbiton became operational on 22nd September 2008.

  • 3 The Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans showing the location and effect of the restrictions, are available for inspection until 15th December 2008 at:

• the 2nd Floor Reception Area, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive;

• Kingston Library, Fairfield Road, Kingston during normal opening hours;

• Hook & Chessington Library, The Hook Centre, Hook Road, Chessington during normal opening hours;

• Surbiton Library, Ewell Road, Surbiton during normal opening hours; and

• Tudor Library, Tudor Drive, Kingston during normal opening hours.

  • 4 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 15th December 2008.
