THE GREENWICH (THAMES PATH) (PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) ORDER 200*

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, propose to make the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  • 2 The effect of the Order would be to prohibit any person from driving or riding any motor vehicle or mechanically propelled vehicle, including pedal cycles, on that length of the riverside footpath known as Thames Path, which extends from a point 112.00 metres north-west of the north-western wall of No. 43 King William Walk to a point opposite the north-western wall of the Trafalgar Tavern Public House, Park Row.
  • 3 Persons having a query concerning the proposals should contact Greenwich Transportation & Highways on 020-8921-5455.
  • 4 A copy of the proposed Order and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order together with plans showing the location and effect of the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at the Directorate of Regeneration, Enterprise & Skills, Greenwich Council, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road,Woolwich SE18 6HQ.
  • 5 Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order or make other representation should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to the Council’s Agents,TMO Services, 4 Snell Gardens, Herne Bay, Kent CT6 7SU quoting reference LBG/2387 to arrive by 17 September 2008.
  • 6 Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice, open to public inspection.
