HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 116

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees intend on the 18 day of August 2008 to apply to the Magistrates’ Court for the Commission Area for Cleveland sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Square, Middlesbrough at the hour of 10.00 in the morning for an Order under the provisions of Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 that the highways mentioned in the Schedule hereto be authorised to be stopped up on the ground that they are unnecessary.

A plan showing the highways proposed to be stopped up have been deposited at the offices of the Director of Law & Democracy at Municipal Buildings Church Road Stockton-on-Tees and may be inspected free of charge between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive.

The Schedule

Six footpaths Approximately 1.8 meters wide and 50 meters long linking Elwick Close to Embleton Close.
Length of footway Approximately 1.8 meters wide and 50 meters long linking Elwick Close to Embleton Close.
Length of footway Approximately 1.8 meters wide running from the junction of Elwick Close and along Easington Road, in a southerly direction for approximately 55 meters.
Length of footway Approximately 1.8 meters wide running from the junction of Embleton Close in a westerly direction for approximately 95 meters.
